I created these prompts because I was tired of seeing that lonely dos prompt at the top of my screen. these prompts don't replace your prompt, just augment it. They were created using ascii code and ansi sequences, and are totally harmless to your computer. you can change them by executing another batch file at the
command line, or by rebooting your computer back to your regular prompt.
I am releasing these prompts as public domain, so feel free to share them with
friends, or upload them to other BBS. I only ask that you do not edit any of thefiles, and that you include this .doc file with the others. You probably don't
want to hear this, but I am just a poor prompt maker, and I spent alot of time
on these...so if you like and use them, maybe you can help with some support .
I'm not asking for a handout, if you send me $10, I will send you 5 more of
these custom prompts on the disk media of your choice. That's only $1 per
prompt, a low price to pay for original art, and i'll pay for the disk, mailer, and postage!
REQUIREMENTS:
Any IBM or compatible, with any type of monitor...of course, a color monitor is preferable to view all the ansi colors.
You have to load the dos driver, ansi.sys, or any comparable driver, in your
config.sys. file. If ansi.sys is in your dos directory, c:\dos, than add this
line to your config.sys file: device=c:\dos\ansi.sys if you can load it
high, use devicehigh=.
If you get an "out of environment space" error message, you will have to put a
shell statement in your config.sys...as follows:
shell=c:\command.com c:\ /p /e:512
You can copy these .bat files into your root directory, or any directory in yourpath. You can execute them by typing the name at the command line, and change
them as frequently as you wish. You can also load any one of them when you boot,by adding a line to your autoexec.bat file, and eliminating your current prompt=line. Remember to back up your config.sys and autoexec.bat files before you editthem, just in case!
That should do it.
If you want the other 5 prompts, and access to future prompts that I am working on, send $10 to:
